As Vietnam shares the longest border with Laos, there are several entry/exit points between the two countries. There are also many buses running across the borber between Laos and Vietnam to/from several provinces.
From Vietnam to Luang Prabang (Laos): There are three buses running between Vietnam and Luang Prabang everyday except. One is to/from Hanoi, one is to/from Vinh and another is to/from Hue.
Buses used for all destinations are sleeping, air-conditioned buses. Bus cross the border at Nam Can border (Nghe An province). The bus journey takes 24 - 26 hours for Luang Prabang from Hanoi.
