Sapa Community Immersion

School groups that have already undertaken this fabulous experience have been extremely satisfied with the programme and felt that their students benefited greatly. School groups have travelled from as far as Singapore to take part. The students were challenged in ways that encourage growth and understanding, while fostering skills such as cooperation, commitment and empathy.

Possible day 1:  Sapa Farming Activities and School Visit (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 2:  Ethnic Minority Village Educational and Trek (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

0500 Early morning arrival in Laocai Station. Land transfer to Sapa town, then to Tavan village (Zay ethnic group), leaving luggage at home stay, a quick freshen up (hot water available )

0730:  Breakfast in at Tavan Homestay (A meeting between our tour guides, tour leaders, and the teachers can be arranged at this time to further discuss and finalise arrangements)

0830:  Proceed to participate in farming activities (helping local farmers, especially those who are old or families who need farming support -This may involve tasks such as ploughing, weeding, digging and preparing fields for upcoming crop)

1230: Lunch at village home (home cooked Vietnamese food)

1400 : Visit the family with Indigo dye and have the tour guide demonstrate some of the dye making process

1600:  Return to home stay for wash up, help to make dinner and prepare for school visit

1800:  Early dinner and cleaning up after dinner

1900:  Walk to Tavan Secondary School

1930:  School visit to Tavan Secondary School to interact with local students (11-16 years old). (Including a performance by the visiting students, and in return a local student performance for our entertainment, and the traditional show of village team).

2200: Lights off

Service included: Transfer from Laocai train station to Tavan village, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, Accommodation at Homestay (10 - 15 persons per home), entrance fees, Farming activities and school visit as mentioned.

Day 2:  Ethnic Minority Village Educational and Trek (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

0700 :Early breakfast. Prepare to trek.

0900 : Trek from Tavan (Zay ethnic group) through the rice terrace, bamboo forest to get to a waterfall. Continue trek from waterfall to Gian Tachai village (Red Dao ethnic group) and Giang Tachai village (H'mong ethnic group) before heading to the main road and drive back to Sapa town (trek distance around 8km / duration 3 - 4 hours). Picnic packed lunch during trek.

1400 : Transfer to Sapa town.

1500 Free time to explore Sapa town, Sapa market.

1700 Showers ill be made available for your comfort in Sapa, we can arrange 6 shower rooms in Sapa for the group to take turns showering.

1800 : Having dinner in Fansipan View Hotel restaurant, and the restaurant near by.

1900:  Transfer to Laocai train station, and then take the night train to Hanoi at 2100
